Hollywood reports that top actors face a formal moral clause in contracts requiring conduct "with due regard to social conventions and public morals." It bans degrading statements about society and sponsors, and cites obedience to legal subpoenas. breaches can lead to firing and removal of name from projects.
In Summitville the WSCS of the Methodist church held a Christmas carry-in and program in the annex. The Marcella Mathys circle presented a playlet with cast members Barbara Cullen Betty Byrd Evelyn Kirkwood and others. Gifts were exchanged after the program and a kitchen towel shower was given to the church. Plans for a December bazaar were announced. Thirty members attended along with numerous other ladies and several children. The local F and AM lodge honored Charles R. Jones for 50 years of service with a presentation by Past Master Herbert Woodruff and others. A Turkey Supper for lodge members followed hosted by the Eastern Star chapter with Worthy Matron Pearl Latchaw and guest speaker William Church.
