Miner Arrested After Violence At Kentucky Non-Union Mine
A Kentucky coal miner, Bob Bersky, 39, was arrested on charges of hitting three pickets with his car and pointing a gun at two others during a ninth day of nationwide United Mine Workers strikes. He posted bond after being charged with three counts of wanton endangerment. Pickets dispersed following a court order. Negotiations in Washington continued with subcommittees meeting and reporting progress on union benefit funds.
