The works board tentatively approved a bid for removing a smoke stack and plans for a city equipment garage, with a two pet variance heard tonight.

County Officials To Indianapolis Convene For State Meetings

Madison County and township officials travel to Indianapolis this week for annual state conventions. County auditor Jesse Biddle attends county auditors on Wednesday and Thursday. county treasurers meet December 11 to 13. Walter Hays presides locally. County Clerk Joe Armington, Recorder Eugene Creag, and Sheriff Joe Brogdon join their groups. Trustees Dale Prough and township trustees converge December 11 to 13. Local judges Russell Stewart Henry Schrenker Sid Cleveland attend a state judges meeting.

County Farmers Urged To Order Seedling Evergreens Now

Farmers urged to order seedling evergreen trees from Jasper Pulaski State Nursery Indiana. Applications must be mailed to the Indianapolis office of the Department of Conservation. no over the counter orders until paid. County Agent Haynes warns Madison County farmers to act quickly for windbreaks game preserves and woodlots. Blank forms available at the County Extension office. Dean Olt on Sabbatical Amid World Campus Study Tour

Dr. Russell Olt continued story with Anderson in early November. They spent a week in Los Angeles and then flew to Honolulu for a vacation. Mrs. Olt will return home while he continues a trip to India and possibly around the world. Dean Olt is on his second sabbatical in 32 years at Eastside College, the first being seven years ago interrupted by world conditions that led to the Korean War. The current leave funds a study of campus projects in other nations. Whether the tour continues has not been determined.
