The Commission on Human Relations may gain council backing if a proposed ordinance passes next Thursday. It would allocate funds from the city treasury to cover the commission's activities, reducing the chance of separate operating funds for the Status of Women group. The women’s commission met with human relations board and legal officials to discuss jurisdiction, with suggestions to ensure equal representation and to create an investigator post for sex discrimination complaints.
