Funeral rites for William H. Myers held in Kokomo area

William H. Myers 85 of 1652 W 23rd St died Sunday at home after 30 years in the community. A retired Deleco-Remy employee and member of multiple Odd Fellows and Masonic bodies he was born January 9 1880 in La Follette Tennessee. Survived by two nieces a nephew and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Funeral arrangements set for Wednesday at Allen Chapel Church with burial at East Maplewood Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church Wednesday from 11 am to service time.

Lapel youth win dairy awards at Madison County event

Winners conceived from Page One Lapel high under the Dairy Herd Improvement Association earned top trophies. Russell Pattison of Summitville claimed high herd and high heifer butterfat titles, Jones Dairy of Anderson took high cow for 663 pounds butterfat, and Fred St John of Lapel Vocational Agriculture led Lapel High School as LaPel Vocational Agriculture boys trophy holder. The 10-car trophy went to the group from Madison County Hybrid Seed Association. The event featured a Fanatic Barbershop Quartet and a talk by Harold Berry about Salamonie Huntington and Mississinewa reservoirs with color slides.
