Anderson College alum runs in Indiana state treasurer bid
A 1963 Anderson College graduate Julian Ridlen Ridlen of Logansport entered the 1978 Republican nomination race for state treasurer. Richard Hegnier Tipton is GOP chairman and filed the Friends of Julian Ridlen committee with the State Election Board. The committee lists Ridlen as chair with Alan McKihan Jr. Fort Wayne as vice chair and includes district and local GOP officers. Ridlen, former Logansport City Court judge and Smith Ridlen law partner, has long been active in Republican circles including delegation roles and RNC staff in the 1960s. The filing notes Ridlen will back the GOP state committee and governor and secretary of state on shared goals.
