McCarthy Criticized for Chicago Stand During Convention
Testimony before the House Committee on Un American Activities accuses Sen Eugene J McCarthy of delaying public condemnation of Chicago police violence until his supporters were attacked. Dellinger says McCarthy led a national antiwar group that organized demonstrations but insists the movement itself did not dictate tactics. Police raided McCarthy HQ at the Conrad Hilton during clashes in Chicago last August.
