Engineer Who Issued Threat In Hospital
Washington engineer Robert A. Weatherington, 41, hospitalized with a compression fracture, faced a Monday court appearance on federal charges for threatening the life of President Johnson. Weatherington, a former Army Corps of Engineers employee, had been arrested after allegedly threatening Johnson during questioning at his home. He claimed Kennedy and Johnson concealed information affecting his job. Weatherington also planned protests at the White House and other sites. He is held on a 15000 dollar bond and his court appearance was postponed until he can be moved from the hospital.
