Anti-War Vets Plead Innocent
Six members of the Vietnam Veterans Against the War pleaded innocent to charges of conspiring to bomb and shoot up the Republican National Convention in Gainesville Florida. They told Judge O vid L Middlebrooks they were guilty of war crimes in Indochina but the court set their trial for October 10 with each defendant released on 25 000 bond. The arraignment followed the convention and involved about 1 000 VVAW members. The six named defendants are Scott Camil Donald P Perdue Alton C Foss William J Patterson Peter Mahoney and John W Kniffen.
