Vietnam War Aces Return Home Quietly from War
The only official Vietnam air aces, Lt. Randy Cunningham and Lt. Willie Driscoll, arrived at Lindbergh Field to a muted reception with about 200 attending. They conducted a Navy tour, spoke with crowds, and recalled missions including downing MIG21 and MIG17 aircraft. The pair faced wary public opinion, yet expressed mutual respect with antiwar protesters and shared experiences from their service aboard the carrier America and Miramar.

Untreated syphilis in Tuskegee study challenged
The Public Health Service knew in 1936 how to treat black men in the Tuskegee syphilis study but withheld treatment to allow autopsies.
