Air Medal Won By Local Pilot From Kokomo Family
Lt. Murro E. VanMeter, son of Mr and Mrs M E VanMeter Jr of Kokomo, received the Air Medal for outstanding piloting and courage on hazardous missions while with the Air Force in Thailand. He was commissioned in 1986 after OTS training at Lackland AFB. A 1947 Kokomo High School graduate, he earned a Purdue BS in 1965 and is a Phi Kappa Psi member.
