Elwood Conservation Club met at the club building on County Line Road with Jack Brewer presiding. Plans include a Sunday April 28 square dance public event with Dave Jones as caller, 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Tickets for a Saturday May 4 chili supper will be sold in advance or at the door. children under six admitted free. sandwiches and dessert served. Next meeting May 2 at the club building.

Willkie High School senior Richard Butler was state speech contest runner up at Indiana University Extension Center in Indianapolis. He won Rotary contests in Elwood and Hartford City and received a $10 award for his talk America for Rights and Responsibilities.
