Elwood Shooting Victim Identified
Elwood resident Richard Munns, 23, was treated at Mercy Hospital for a sunshot wound described as personal safety related. Police said he and his wife were in a car at 1403 25th St at 7:20 pm when Munns fired a .22 rifle, the bullet entering his back. Investigators consider a domestic quarrel a possible motive.

A three alarm fire destroyed most of the L. B. Jones Furniture Co. plant in Evansville Wednesday night. No immediate loss estimate. front two thirds of the large one story building was a total loss. The firm did about $1 million yearly business in custom furniture and several power sewing machines and lathes were destroyed. Survivors include wife Emma and two daughters. The fire ended efforts to salvage the factory equipment.
