The City Council, by a 4-0 vote with Councilman Tom Tait abstaining, approved a 1.3 million amendment to a Tetra Tech design contract for the Soundwall project along the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway tracks between Anaheim Hills and Yorba Linda. The vote also authorizes a railway agreement requiring over 937 thousand dollars for construction and maintenance, with work slated to start in February or March 2004.
A second youth has been arrested in connection with a BB gun shooting that injured a Running Springs Elementary School fourth grade teacher in August. Orange Unified School District officials confirmed the arrest and said the suspect lives in Anaheim Hills but attends school in another district. Both youths face criminal prosecution for the incident.
