The Jan 5 home opener vs Dallas starts at 7 30 p.m. followed by a Jan 7 Kings game at 7 30 p.m. Most weekday games begin 7 30 p.m. and Sundays at 5 p.m. Tickets through the official line are 877 WILDWING.
In Anaheim Hills a three-trunk Coast Live Oak, Quercus agrifolia, was planted at the entrance to the new golf club clubhouse. Standing about 25 feet tall with a 20 foot spread, the tree replaces an older, century-old oak felled for housing. Acting park superintendent Larry Pasco notes the tree’s native lineage from Baja California to San Francisco.
Far from mall crowds the Canyon Hills Library Friends run a bookstore with books cookbooks children’s stories tapes and CDs available for pennies on the dollar. See story and photos on page 3.
Kathleen Moran, known for claw machine skill, competes with the Orange Unified School District Board, bridge, and bowling. She uses a joystick claw to win plush toys from vending machines and donates them to needy children, sharing her year round passion.
