Less Green Could Make Nicer Play At Anaheim Hills Course
Anaheim Hills Golf Course undergoes turf removal on about 29 acres to cut water use from 120 to 130 million gallons annually, aided by a 2.5 million rebate from the Metropolitan Water District. Work, cost covered by the rebate, should finish by mid December. The project promises color changes and enhanced facilities, including a driving range, large putting green, a 30,000 square foot villa clubhouse, and a course app. Public tee times and memberships remain available.

Anaheim Dad Miller Golf Course Cuts Water Use
Anaheim owns Dad Miller Golf Course at 430 N Gilbert St near Savannah High. Not in the Metropolitan Water District, so ineligible for turf rebate. Manager Michael Lautenbach says the 90 acre course reduced watering by about 20 percent using targeted cutbacks and a new irrigation computer, with plans to replace the aging system and possibly turf replacement where feasible.

Anaheim backs plan for Grove performing arts center
Anaheim City Council voted 4-1 to back the Anaheim Performing Arts Center Foundation's effort to convert a Grove site into a 1400 seat theater with a 600 seat studio and underground parking. Brandman Comes Out as Anaheim City Council's First Openly Gay Member
Councilman Jordan Brandman announced he is gay and found happiness with a man, making him the first openly gay member in Anaheim's 58-year history.
