Disney funds new parks and pickleball court in Anaheim
Disney partners with the city and KaBoom to build playgrounds at Imperial, Willow, Julianna, Pearson and Barton parks funded entirely by donations from Disney. Anaheim celebrates a Twila Reid Park upgrade with a pickleball court, renovated softball and new soccer field funded by a $200,000 Disneyland Resort donation. Coach Phil Dunmeyer explains pickleball, a sport blending tennis, ping pong and badminton, played on a triple‑space court on a concrete pad. Disneyland Resort also contributed $150,000 each for skate parks at Schweitzer and Palm Lane parks opened this summer, with no city funding required.
