Anaheim's U2 connection runs back to 1981 Woodstock Club show
Eric Carpenter recalls Anaheim roots of U2 from a tiny West Anaheim venue in March 1981 to later arena spectacles. He notes fan attendance near 12 to 100 at The Woodstock Concert Theatre on Knott Avenue, the early praise by Register critic C P Smith, and the allure of tickets priced at $5.50. Carpenter, once a Register reporter, is now an OCTA spokesman.
