New Coast Guard veteran named St. Catherine's commandant
Lawrence Lundin, a 47 year old Coast Guard lieutenant commander, is named commandant of St. Catherine's Military School in Southern California. A former student there, Lundin served 20 years in the military, including active and reserve time, and aims to expand the school's program with community service projects while teaching students to be good citizens. He notes enrollment has declined but praises staff work and the school’s long history since 1889.
