At an adjourned session the council allowed Thomps Construction Co to claim 1 470 52 for concrete sidewalk work on 21 lots, while J G Bradford vowed to seek an injunction to stop costs as taxes. The panel also passed a house numbering ordinance to enable free mail delivery, changing Broadway as the block divider.
A Lawton letter says a large contingent will travel to Anadarko Friday evening next week to hear Senator Robert L Owen. The group will travel on the evening train with the Ft Sill military band and be joined by Congressman Scott Ferris to speak and entertain the crowd. Local committees plan the reception as part of a campaign push.
The History Club met at the usual hour with Miss Area. A four meeting program was distributed and Mixsee Miller Wade and Monsell named for the social committee while Mr. Guy Hamsion was chosen critic. Members planned adjournment to meet November 4 with Miss Elrick to study the season. Several members were noted traveling for visits and business, including Re Herndon, J White, C J Sheets, Mrs Farrington, Mrs G W Page, Inspector Axline, and Mrs Carl Stratton, with Stratton to study soul music under Prof Bunell in Chickasha.
