Commerce Commission Fines Railways for Unreasonable Rates
Washington May 26 The interstate commerce commission ruled against several rail lines in favor of claimants including National Refining Co in a case against Santa Fe Rail Road Co. The railroad must pay 674.58 plus interest from Jan 26 1900 for transporting sixteen carloads of petroleum from Coffeyville Kansas to Enid Oklahoma the Oklahoma State Corporation Commission had found 35 cents per hundred pounds excessive compared to 25 cents per hundred pounds. Cypress lumber rates from Little Rock and Woodson Arkansas to Oklahoma Kansas and Mission points were deemed unreasonable as they exceeded Memphis Tennessee to Wynne Arkansas rates. The St Louis Iron Mountain Southern Railway Co is ordered to desist by July 1 from charging current cypress lumber carload rates between these points.

Child Drinks Gasoline Kills Apache Toddler
A three year old child of Mr and Mrs Jesse Robinson of Apache died after drinking gasoline yesterday at four pm. The accident occurred as the family prepared to move to their new home in Canada and the fuel had been left within reach. The mother collapsed but survived. this marks a second gasoline related death in Apache within ten days.

Penniiens Gardepie aged 29 died at the Alabama Hotel on C Avenue Lawton after tuberculosis and heartbreak.
