Memorial services are held at the Presbyterian Church on Sunday May 24 at 3 p.m due to the Baccalaureate exercises at the Opera House in the forenoon. The program includes opening hymn America prayer scripture reading anthem memorial hymn duets and multiple addresses by Rev. W W Phares Rev L Crabtree Rev J W Coates Rev J M Jones and Rev R M Overwrot with musical selections by Howard East and others.

Miss Maxine Cox Hosts Eighth Grade Party Evening
Miss Maxine Cox entertained the eighth grade girls at her home on Wednesday afternoon from four to six. A luncheon, music, and games followed, then a trip to a picture show at six thirty. Chaperones were Mrs. Myers and Mrs. Cox. Attendees reported a pleasant evening.

Blair Surrenders In Chickasaw County Killing
Bill Blair, a black man, surrendered after claiming the killing of John Ivy, a white man, was an accident. Blair said Ivy came into a room where Blair and three others were, demanded money to go to Anadarko, and a scuffle led to a gun discharging and Ivy being shot. The sheriff’s office appears to believe Blair's account of the event.

Reverend Humphrey to lead M. I Church to Chickasha
Rev Humphrey will oversee the M I Church at Norlith until about June 20 then move to Chickasha to serve as District Evangelist for the Chickasha district. Roy Smith of Nashville Tean will replace him as pastor of the Y E Church south after the given date. Smith is a graduate of South Western University of Texas and has attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville for two years.

Slumber Party Hosted by Miss Lois Denny at Highland Addition
Miss Lois Denny gave a slumber party to the Senior class girls at her Highland Addition home Friday night. Twenty six attended though Ora Proffit and Laura Ray were absent due to sickness. Several boys joined, music by a male quartet and others entertained, games were played into the night, a two course break fast was served, and guests left praising Miss Lois as a royal entertainer.

The science cooking demonstration at Eccleston and Coggins school has been a success. Attendance was not as large as hoped, but participants praised the program. Miss Coalville, a Kansas Agricultural College Home Economics graduate, oversees the demonstration and is up to date in the field. Those who missed it should attend the next offering.
