Mrs. A. W. Reinhardt and her daughter Lulu were badly burned Tuesday when a gasoline spill on a stove caused flames. The mother remains in critical condition with severe burns to arms and torso while Lulu suffered facial burns and singed hair but is less critical. The daughter aided her mother, preventing a worse outcome.
Candidates must file with the county election board when announcing their candidacy a statement naming who may spend money for them. If no one is authorized they must state that. They must also keep during the campaign and file a detailed expenditures statement at its close, with severe penalties for noncompliance.
An open letter dated May 14 1910 complains about Dr. Corbin disparaging remarks heard at the post office. The writer warns not to use his name or John Pratt's and invites inquiries to verify the overheard exchange and alleged gossip.
The Ladies of the Christian church plan a chicken dinner on Saturday May 2. Known for their excellent meals they expect strong patronage. The serving location is to be decided soon.
The Binger Journal urges sanitary action amid typhoid fears urging pure drinking water and garbage removal. It warns about townknockers and warns readers that criticizing the paper may provoke retaliation while promising reflection on those who object.
Miss Brown entertained at the Bryan Hotel with a four course luncheon for guest Mina Lucile Carrol of Chickasha. Covers were laid for ten and the dining room was decorated with violets and carnations. Mrs H C Gibbe of Carnegie returned home after a visit with her parents. Mr and Mrs G Hillert of Binger spent Saturday in the city.
Chief Chas. Slemp of the Fire Department tours Claremore while Frank Soard, a leading Democrat from Caddo county, visits the city. Speculation grows that Soard may run for Representative from Caddo county.
The U and I Club and the Embroidery Club will meet with Mesdames McDavitt and White at Mrs White’s home on Tuesday afternoon May 17. Mrs Dyche arrived from Chickasha to spend Saturday.
District Court adjourned Friday evening to Monday. Jurors released for Sunday. Cases disposed include 1138 Smith v Kunkel with plaintiff verdict, 1096 Fayva v Cook with defendant verdict, 1454 Bohart v Welch continued, 1511 State ex rel v Billingsley injunction granted, 1436 State ex rel v Wesley Turber permanent injunction, 1587 McDonald v Gordon default judgment for plaintiff, and 1440 Miller v Stackhouse trial ongoing.
Harvey D. Garrison, sheriff of Oklahoma County, was restored to office after a district court vacated his removal and suspension orders. The grand jury accusations remain, but the case is not expected to be tried again, and Garrison must obtain a county commissioners’ approval to resume duties.
Prepare a layered bake using turkey chicken beef or mutton with potatoes and butter. A rich sauce of butter flour milk onion parsley and salt and pepper is poured over and baked until tender. Serve with baked stuffed tomatoes and cracker turnover pancakes with jelly on top for dessert.

Herring of Elk City will speak at the Court House Monday evening at Slovelock with Judges Gilkerson of Elk City and Tome of Sayre. The event promises addresses on the campaign, with voters urged to attend and women especially invited.
Rev J A Scott and Miss Ger trudar Salter arrive for revival meetings at the Baptist Church. First service tomorrow morning at 11 oclock. services continue indefinitely. Evangelist Scott and Miss Salter the gospel singer will lead. All welcome with 11 am and 8 pm services during the week. Pastor Albert Maddox urges attendance and watch for Sunday announcements.
Mra Harry Veidt entertained four teen members of the Junior League of the Southern Methodist church Friday night. Miss Eva Davin reports the evening most enjoyable with ice cream and cake served. Also notes visits and church officers meeting plans and provides two old time recipes Cottage Pudding and Smice with incomplete lines.
Reports circulated that a man on North Boundary wounded his wife but investigation found a disturbance at the McGee residence. McGee says he fired at a target. another woman says the shots hit Mrs. McGee. Deputy Armstrong placed McGee in custody pending investigation.
Captain Allen and the Forester team of Modern Woodmen visited Hinton on Saturday to exemplify new work for the local camp. Swifts Winchester Sugar Cured Hams advertised at Skagg's Grocery for 15c per pound. Professor J M Phillipe of Verdan stopped in Anadarko as a business visitor during the week.
