City government faces a financial impasse as the council, city attorney, and Treasurer Popejoy dispute fund handling. McFadyen and Popejoy argue legal limits prevent shifting funds while paying wages and bills. Calls arise for a salaried, nonpolitical commission to run city operations.
4th Ward Republicans met at Fuller Hall last Saturday to form a club. L. M. Spivey was temporary chair man and Chad McKnight secretary. A committee of Ellison Perry and Baulware was named. Spivey to seek permanent headquarters, next meeting set for Friday evening.
Dumil versus Dumil was dismissed. Luschen versus Luschen granted divorce. Grand jury returned fifteen indictments. Dowden v Dowden. Territory v Luther Ford enters not guilty plea for first degree manslaughter. Territory v Albie Corbin pleads guilty. sentenced to one year in territorial penitentiary. City National Bank of Lawton v Mills et al. judgment per journal entry. Court adjourned for the term.

Mrs Wooley died Tuesday morning at eleven after being bitten by a mad dog at her home west of Gracemont. Funeral services by Rev Farrington were held yesterday at 3:30 PM at the M E church and she was buried in the city cemetery. The community extends sympathy.
The Anadarko fire department finished second out of 65 entries at Ardmore. Herbert of Guthrie won the 100 yard dash, Campbell of Anadarko took second with 1125 seconds. Bulaney of Pauls Valley won the 50 foot dash in seven seconds. Weatherford won the 100 yard hose race with Anadarko second in 3825 seconds. A banquet followed and officers will be chosen for next year. Mr C V Liming of Anadarko announces his candidacy for representative in Caddo County. District judge Deace of Lawton attends. A committee of the Anadarko Commercial Club reports landowners consent to set aside a city school block in the Bath Addition. They request a written covenant and contract of sale with reversion if the city fails to build within three years, naming block south of Block 12 as acceptable.
The Bath Addition sale in Anadarko drew up to 500 onlookers as 95 lots sold in two hours for 12007.50 total, with an average of 127.34. Buyers were local residents, signaling homebuilding intent and future city growth as the auctioneer Goggerty pushed bids against Max Goldman and others.
The second eight grade examination will be held in Ana darko on May 16 and 17. All eight grade students are eligible. Those who failed the April exam may make up their grades.
