Miller Grain Co. triumphs over Rock Island in small suit

Downed Texas Woman Dies on D Street Doorstep
Annie Applewhite, a middle aged colored woman from Enns Texas, had traveled seeking odd jobs while battling consumption. She was found at a D street doorway at 4 am in a dying condition and died at 10 am despite medical aid. City officials arranged burial in the potter's field.
