The I O O F Lodge held a business meeting Wednesday evening to discuss a new hall. A committee was appointed to make preliminary arrangements and work is expected to begin soon as Anadarko continues to grow.
Last Monday afternoon Mrs J U W Kerr hosted Highland Thimble Club members. Many were absent due to sickness. Mrs W E Knox works on an eyelet design lunch cloth. Mrs Boone Hite shows a violet colored sofa pillow. Ladies dispersed after ice cream and cakes. Next meeting with Mrs H M Tilton next Monday from 5 to 30.
A Tuesday morning dispute in the colored settlement led to a stabbing at the Red Hotel shack. A woman suffered a deep flesh wound but survived. The assailant was arrested and posted bond. Authorities report ongoing fights by roughs in the area causing citywide annoyance.
Local residents report social visits and trips. Mr. and Mrs. G. D. Lovell spent Sunday afternoon with Mrs. Dick. Mrs. Hiner made a business trip to Anadarko last Wednesday. W. A. The Rock Island Railway presented a draft for 42805.95 to cover taxes today. The tax rolls show total taxes due as 55599.98. County Treasurer West returned the draft and insisted on the full amount per the tax rolls.

J. W. Lyon and M. Matthew of Bowie Texas acquire Champlin Lumber Company stock at Anadarko Lawton and Geronimo and take possession Wednesday. Anadarko operations remain under the same management with Mr Snodgrass as manager and no changes other than ownership.
