Eugene Brazel died from wounds after a sutting affray at Apache. Luther Ford, the assailant, is in the county jail awaiting a preliminary hearing on the 25th before the probate judge. Brazel reportedly said Ford acted in self defense as the knife was used. Ford's wife and child visit the jail today expressing relief.
The City Council met in regular session Monday night to accept Joe Conley’s bid for sidewalk construction on advertised lots before a call for help from Gatebo interrupted. A hasty adjournment followed and the grade question for block 33 was referred to the street and alley committee city attorney and city engineer. Inspectors named for the coming election include W. B. Dunlap O. M. Topley C. A. Carewall and Theo. Pruett.
Mrs. E. L. Stevens died at her Gracemont area home March 15 1907 from heart failure brought by la grippe. Rev. White conducted a short service and burial followed in McClure Cemetery. Frances Mille Stevens was born February 5 1852 in Hopkins County Texas and married E. L. Stevens in 1871. they had ten children, nine living.
