The Home Mission Ladies of the M. and Church South announce a bonnet and apron sale on Tuesday afternoon March 17 at the Mod Variety Store. Light refreshments will be served and a silver offering gratefully received. Everyone is invited to support this charitable effort.
The Charity will meet Monday afternoon at City Hall at 3 o'clock. All members urged to be present for important business. Ben Stooks of Chickasha spent Saturday in the city.
The Christian church auxiliary, divided into several divisions, hosted a Friday afternoon social at Mrs. W. W. Terry's home. A program on The Children's Work featured talks by Mesdames Davis Terry Thompson Schram Meyers and Bullock. Music by Gladys Oxule Isla Davis Lois Deony and a reading by Eula Puares enhanced the event.
In Judge Ward's Apache court on Thursday the case Bullen versus Landram was decided in favor of Bullen. Nippert had sold chores to Landram on which Bullen sold a mortgage. The court grants a horse to Bullen after reproof of the animal dispute and mortgage chain.
Prospective contestants gathered Tuesday evening for preliminaries as three Tonkawa district farmers provided work for the local debate. Teams met Thursday night at Tonkawa school to prepare while a large attendance surrounded the event. Anadarko youth won the debate and Omega Library Society gave a brief program Friday afternoon. Mrs. Lancaster and Mrs. Boyle returned to Duncan after a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Nownin. Mr. and Mrs. John Jenson and daughter Elizabeth visited with Coggins family. Archiquette visited her sister in St. Anthony hospital. Ft. Sill Indian School principal Mr Brandon was in town Saturday.
Two weeks ago the men of the Presbyterian Church held a helpful service under church auspices. Tomorrow morning the women will conduct a similar service with special music prepared. The pastor S. V. Fait expresses pleasure and confidence in a large attendance.
W B Patton's new play Lavy Bill is praised as the best comedy of the season. Dr Bill Hale stands out for his humorous charm and broad appeal, drawing many admirers to the performance at the Upers House, where artistic quality and acting are highlighted as rare in modern theater.
