Robert L Knie Washita county democratic superintendent and state superintendent candidate visits Chickasha. He promotes progressive ideas and free comprehensive education for all, urging schools to make common branches universal and to give every child a full education.

Two large balloons built for racing will vie for the win with the highest going the farthest. Merchants of Anadarko sponsor a 200 dollar prize for the winner. Spectators urged to arrive early to see the first balloon pace in Oklahoma on a vacant lot east of the Bryan Hotel.

At the city Rebekah lodge meeting eight fifteen candidates received initiatory work. Ten came from Carnegie, four from Grace Mont, and one from the city. After routine business a social hour followed with a two course lunch served by Messrs Penn Hamilton Daniels Campbell. Guthrie Oklahoma March 11 The constitution for statewide prohibition was adopted on its third reading and signed by the president. Opponents were heavily defeated with thirteen votes against and seventy one for, while twenty did not vote. The pen used to sign the prohibition article was presented to Luke Roberts chairman of the liquor traffic committee. The convention ordered written explanations to replace floor speeches and limited speeches to five minutes. Women's suffrage measures were moved to the bottom of the calendar. Resolutions from Montana and Oregon seeking a federal call for a constitutional amendment to let senators be elected by popular vote were received.
County commissioners granted Groomer a liquor license on the east line of Hillaboro township Indiana Territory after adjourned session. The hearing involved Fisher Leech Canon and Judge Gillette may review for publication sufficiency. The Democrat notes some commissioners oppose wayside saloons lacking police protection.
