Fireman dies after Rock Island crash in Enid Oklahoma
Enid Oklahoma March 1 Fireman Sidney Davis of Chickasha Oklahoma was scalded to death when a Rock Island passenger train No 1 collided head on with a freight engine after an open switch in the yards. The engineer Claude Isles escaped with a crushed foot. No passengers were injured. The passenger train was two hours late and the wreck delayed service until 1 30 pm.

Mule Thief Arrested After Mule Stolen Case Ties In
A. E. Cooper was arrested by the Duty Marshall of Bark while shipping a trunk from Anadarko to Chickasha. The trunk contained a 10 gallon keg of bad whiskey. Papers on Cooper tied him to a mule theft in Rush Springs months earlier. He was held for the next grand jury.

Bidder Brings Suit Over Big Pasture Land Award
Lawton Oklahoma March 1 Richard Prenderville of Maitland Missouri says he will bring a mandamus action against the United States government to gain possession of land awarded him in the Big Pasture. He moved his family and prepared to settle before being told his award was withdrawn for irregularities. Other bidders report similar issues including M W Stone whose high bid near Red River mismatches the government description leaving 120 of 160 acres of red sand deemed worthless.

Hope, March 1. The town of Washington, population 500, was struck by a tornado last night and reported almost wiped out. Two negroes killed and several injured. Churches, a residence, and a store were destroyed. Wires down, no further details available.
