Washington June 28 director North of the census bureau has issued a general order concerning the Oklahoma census to be taken on July 1 enumerators shall be residents of the districts they canvass selected without regard to political opinions They will get from 83 to Sa day Each enumerator must take oath that he will not divulge any information he secures except to the official designated by the director Any person who refuses to give the enumerator any information will be prosecuted

National Guards Return Home From Ft Sill Encampment

Oklahoma National Guard units including Infantry Signal and Hospital corps arrived by northbound train this morning returning to their stations after target practice at Ft Sill. Watonga guards of co K carried off the iron ore. Fifteen men from each home guard district were chosen for future duty and the encampment will reconvene in September at Ft. Sill.

A northbound train wreck between Richards and Lawton delayed service six hours. Levi Ogle reports his son Geary has joined the US Navy and is stationed in Rhode Island for four months before sea duty.

Wide-Awake Entertainers Thrill Chickasha Audience

The Wide-Awake club from Chickasha presented a polished program under Christian church auspices. Willa Rhone and Lele Goff played piano duets, Arte Goff delivered a violin solo, and young Francis Hillin and Jennie Daniela drew praise for their performances. Rev J B Dinger spoke on Borrowing Trouble, with C C Gardner reading How the Church Was Built at Keho’s Bar. Rhone closed with a piano solo, and the group plans a return with hopes for a larger crowd.

Oldest Nebraska resident Katherine Felske dies at 104

Mrs Katherine Felske aged 104 died in Grand Island Nebraska last night. She was the oldest person in Nebraska and his passing marks the end of a long life in the community.

Oklahoma President appeals citizens to help fund constitutional convention costs

President William H. Murray appeals Oklahoma citizens to donate toward 6000 for clerk hire and convention expenses after Congress failed to provide extra funds. Donors must include name and post office address to receive a certificate, with funds to be sent to Murray in Tishomingo in late June 1807.

Lawyers Seek Delaying Writ to Block Oklahoma State Constitution Election

Guthrie June 28 excellent authority says Noah and Snoddy attorneys for Woods County residents oppose the proposed state constitution. They aim to obtain a writ of supersedens from a U S court to keep an injunction against an election in force. Supreme Court reassembly in October could affect chances. Snoddy and Noah left for St Louis or Washington to pursue the writ.

Entertaining Mrs G B Phelps Hosts And Guests

Mrs G B Phelps entertained yesterday afternoon from 3 to 5 in honor of her sister Mina Grice Howard and Misses Rodky and Brown of Edmond. Fifteen young people attended. The entertainment featured a game of the afternoon and ice cream and cake. Georgia Weaver returned yesterday from Binger where she had been inviting friends.
