A severe storm passed over town with loud thunder and lightning. Bosarth's barn was struck causing the top of a post to shatter and the death of several valuable stallions valued at about 3500 dollars. Additional damage was limited to a church roof shingle and board. A relief fund circulated locally to cover losses.
