The County Sunday School Workers Association held its annual convention with about 250 delegates present. Highlights included demonstrations on teaching beginners, discussions on child religious rights, and talks on duties of county and township officers, with officers for the new year named and ratified.
The program opened with Hon. Co V Liming on Teachers Training Work followed by William Rogers collecting funds for county work. Dr W B Palmore of St Louis spoke for over an hour urging parental involvement in Sunday school amid broad travels and vast Sunday attendance. He announced a second talk tonight and urged early attendance for seats.
Morning session began with a sunrise prayer meeting at Mothyin Institute followed by reports discussed at 8 30 a m in the second day’s morning session at the M E Church North.
Fred Fowler aged 19 and Winnie Milford 14 or 16, Carnegie residents, drove to Apache with plans to marry in Anadar ko. Discovered by her father Editor Milford, city marshal Draper intercepted them on arrival and escorted them back to Carnegie.
The Columbian Woodmen 8. D. Bagby and J. R. Gillette state manager are in the city to organize a local order. The group is already established in Oklahoma and the Southern States east of the Mississippi. Bagby and Gillespie report progress with a sizable class for charter membership and promote the order's fraternal nature and insurance feature available to eligible men and women.
A birthday party for Ruby Mae Duke marked her tenth birthday at her parents Mr and Mrs W B Duke home yesterday. Guests played games and hemmed aprons with Clifford Lyon winning for hemming the best apron and Lois Farrington for best overall. Attendees included Clifford Lyon Pred Vila Asme Lyon Deans Trice Gordon Lola Farrington George Higgins and Alice Sterba. Dainty refreshments followed and guests departed praising Ruby Mae as a royal entertainer.

Men making Anadarko presents Charles Tucker a skilled blacksmith with a well equipped shop near Harry Brown's lumber yard. He repairs farm implements buggies wagons and tools and runs a large horse shoeing business. Tucker, born in Illinois, moved to Oklahoma this year and has won steady patronage among farmers and horsemen.
P A Parker runs a top city blacksmith shop for five years, skilled in wood and iron work, wagon and machinery repairs, and horsehoeing. Born near Des Moines, raised in Kansas, he trained at Marechal and Moline works, employing two to three skilled assistants to meet farmer and public demand.
A. R. Cooley discusses the role of the city Chief of Police, arguing this position ranks among the most important city offices. The piece emphasizes the need for effective leadership to combat crime and maintain public order.
Tyre Baker, Democratic nominee, emerges as a respected Kentuckian turned Oklahoma citizen. Gol G. W. C. Rohrer reports Karl Preger has sent word from the summit of Pike's Peak. He asks the Colonel to make a burglarious entry into a store and deliver a bale of blankets to him to endure the cold high above this world.
The city library contains valuable reference works including an dictionary encyclopaedia of 40 volumes and volumes from Stoddard's lectures Warner library of literature along with historical and biographical works. An attendant will be present next Monday from 4:00 to 5:30 to help those seeking specific subjects at the city hall reading room.
W H White visits the Hillsboro Normal and reports to district trustees while Superintendent Miss Widaman leads classes. Rev Dr Palmore and other educators address students in chapel and a three week schedule is planned. One hundred thirty one students enrolled to date. A Lawn Basket Dinner by the M E Church South ladies Saturday July 20 with ice cream and cake planned. move indoors if rain. Everyone invited.
At a special meeting the council named W. H. Starkweather as police judge pro tem after Judge Gillette was suspended for malfeasance pending trial. The vote, with Farrington absent, favored Westphal Hammert Welmer Duncan Galloway Noe Bergdorf Konkel. Starkweather qualified and took office.
At noon V Duncan announced their son was born to himself and his wife, weight unknown, mother and child reported doing well. Born to Marvin Bristow yesterday a nine pound boy. born to B W Hammert Wednesday a one pound boy.
