July 11 Bridgeport suffers an oil refinery blast as two large tanks holding 37 000 barrels ignite after a lightning strike. Flames reach 500 feet, 15 smaller tanks explode, but dikes and bucket brigades prevent broader damage. No lives lost, property saved, losses estimated at 160 000. Farmers helped and the town saved before nightfall.
Mr Walter Marshall and Miss Abbie Scribbins wed in Stillwater on July 10. Mrs Marshall a popular Cad do County teacher plans to reside here permanently. The couple travels from Stillwater toward Ft Cobb as they start married life with well wishes from local friends.

Barbrey of Mangum transacts business in the city today. Mrs. Minerva Hearily leaves for Mt. View friends.

Twenty five fine cattle died of heat in stock pens yesterday after being shipped from the west. They were placed in pens with no water or shade, causing a heavy loss estimated at about six hundred dollars.

Sandera back in Norman this morning. W W Terry and others return from Apache. Will and Luther Turner are Granite visitors today.
