Charity Show a Success at Nusho for the Poor

A benefit charity program at the Nusho Tuesday night raised about $1 for the poor after ticket sales. Mrs R L Lawrence and Mrs Singer sang, Miss Nell Nathen played piano, Mrs Bertha Moore read, Moore's orchestra supplied music, and praise went to Mr Moore for arranging a clean, successful event. The charity committee plans a 3 PM Friday meeting at City Hall to organize a Christmas treat for needy families, inviting all helpers to attend. The rain did not stop Union Revival at the Christian church, which was well attended and appreciated. A local business note mentions a Silver Leaf Shoe Shop about first-class repairs near Cravemant, with a Wednesday plan to assist a local family of his son. Mr J B Gunn of Jefferson Township brought his son for treatment of inflammatory rheumatism after a sudden onset three weeks ago.

Harry Brown Jr Elected Delegate to National Missionary Meeting

Harry Brown Jr son of Mr and Mrs Harry Brown of this city has been elected a delegate to attend the National Volunteer Missionary movement meeting in Kansas City from the 20th to the piot of December. He is one of six delegates chosen to attend with President Sandford Brooks and wife. He is an A H S graduate and will graduate from Oklahoma State University this term.

C. H. Clay left Wednesday evening with a car of chickens to New York. Mrs M. Hite went to Chickasaw Wednesday. She will spend Christmas with her mother Mrs Dresbach. Anadarko City Schools Plan Christmas Programs and Vacation

Anadarko city schools begin vacation Friday December 1%th and resume Monday January 5th. Teachers have a few hours to finish Christmas program preparations. Programs will be held in each room Friday afternoon December 19th. All parents are invited to attend.

Sunday School Conventions Led by Alyce McPherson in Alfalfa County

Miss Alyce McPherson practical supervisor of House Visitation led six Sunday School conventions across Alfalfa County. Attendees were sizable though not all schools were represented. McPherson presented maps comparing six years of organized work with current activity and noted Sunday Schools rose from 83 to over 7,000 in attendance. Anadarko session concluded with plans to entrust visitation of the city, converting a revival to a Union Revival. County officers seek countywide cooperation after year start and invite interested groups to contact Emma Blackmon or John Pfaff Jr of Anadarko. Jobu Pfaff urged awakening to seize the opportunity and build one of the state’s best Sunday School counties.

Never Grow Old Club Social and Notices

Mrs. O M Topley hosted the Never Grow Old Club Tuesday afternoon despite rain. Members enjoyed needlework and refreshments then planned to meet with Mrs L N Vedder next Tuesday. Amy Becker visited El Reno to inspect the Ladies circle of the G A R lodge. A found pocket book was offered for return to owner. Various local notices follow including sales and services.

An Anadarko trading area buzzes as windows glow with festive displays. Citizens flock to Thor and nearby towns for Christmas purchases. Misa DeWitt, a Democrat supporter, plans a visit to Cogar to see Maud Rose, while Misa Hare departs for Richmond, Virginia after visiting Mia.

Corn crop outlook offsets price gains in Chickasha district

The ladies interested in charity work for the deserving poor will meet Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock in the City Half. All club members and others who wish to assist are urged to attend.

The Ladies of Fair View community announce a box and pie supper on Tuesday evening December 23 to raise funds for a Christmas tree. Rebt Campbell, president of Anadarko Commercial College, visited El Reno Tuesday. J Buckets of Apache passed Anadarko Wednesday en route to Oklahoma to take his little daughter to St Anthony hospital for treatment after a barbed wire accident caused blood poisoning preventing walking. Rev McWhether visited this week to see his daughter Mrs A Martines.
