Captured Fugitive Jim Gandy Tied to Robbery Case
CAPTURED Jim Gandy, wanted for knocking Dr. Todd of Coment in the head and robbing him of seven dollars and a gold watch, was captured at Minco Friday night by Deputy Sheriff Bishop and brought to this city Saturday morning. Gandy formerly lived at Cement but now resides in Washington township. He is charged with highway robbery.

Heroic rescue as father sinks in Grand River
In Wagoner Oklahoma, Aug 28, James Rooney saved a six year old boy from Grand River five miles east of town after the boy’s father, Livingston, disappeared in a whirlpool. Livingston, a member of Livingston Bros., cattle shippers from Texas, was recovered after an hour underwater. The child cried for his father as they awaited help.
