Jefferson City Mo August 13 Governor Folk commuted the death sentence of Frederick Seymour Barrington to life imprisonment for the murder of James McCann. Barrington, believed to be George Barton, was convicted mainly on circumstantial evidence. The slain man’s body was found in a quarry pond at Bontele Station, head crushed to prevent recognition. Barrington has long proclaimed his innocence. St Louis report notes Folk’s action with no further comment.

Farmers Institute Delegates Meet in Guthrie January Session
Farmers Institute delegates gathered for an annual Board of Agriculture meeting in Guthrie in January with T. L. Eastman chosen as alternate. The group planned a one day Guthrie session and possible adjournment to Stillwater for the rest of the week at the Experiment Station. Prof Long discussed agricultural education, W. L. English spoke on cotton growing, J. L. Montgomery spoke on corn growing, and C. M. McNabb urged stock food restraint and noted low attendance in Anadarko and Caddo county. Arrested for Shooting at Mail Boxes Near Lookeba
Chester Pugh near Cullen was arrested yesterday by Jease Morrin and charged with shooting at a mailbox on a rural line northeast of Lookeba. He was intoxicated, about thirty, and appeared before Judge Robinson. bond set at 500 dollars and his trial fixed for the 16th.
