Hinton Celebration Draws Big Crowds and Praises

The Hinton celebration filled hotels and restaurants as crowds filled a city block space with stands, rides, and a merry-go-round. Speakers included Gore Ferguson Fulton and Haskell, with notable addresses by B F Holding and Theodore Pruett. An agricultural exhibit showcased farm products as the local paper published a daily Blotter during the event.

School Board Sets September Start Nine Month Term

The school board met last night and directed Supt Sanders to designate teachers for each grade. They set the first Monday in September as the start of the nine month school year. The board revised the high school course of study and its graduates will be considered for admission to the state university freshman class without another examination.

Several residents report illnesses and travel by Mr. Smith, Mr. Blusher, Mr. Craig, Mr. Harris, and Mr. Wells. Mr. Smith sold cotton last week for 425 dollars. Price bought mules at Chickasha for 400 dollars. The Fitz family returned from Indian Territory and Texas. Fitte shows improved health.
