First Bear Brought In From Georgetown Lake
A bear believed to be among the first brought to Anaconda for some time was killed near Georgetown Lake yesterday by Rudy Urich. The bear, weighing about 100 pounds, was displayed at Kelly Commercial. Urich, with a party of A C M linemen, tracked and killed the animal after spotting it near a hillside. The bear is a mix of brown, cinnamon, and black and appeared unusually thin, with locals noting bears are scarce this year due to berry shortages in the mountains.
