In New Orleans on September 23 Mrs. Helene Schuler was diagnosed with bubonic plague. It marks the twenty-eighth case reported since the outbreak was first identified on June 27.

Nine cases of Asiatic cholera have been found among wounded soldiers in Hungary. The first case was a wounded man brought from the Galician battlefields on Sept. 15 to Bekescsaba. Eight more cases appeared among Galician veterans, in Munkacs, Tokay, and six at Dumastertahely near Pressburg on the Austrian border.
