Rebels seized gold and silver after escaping, forcing detachment to pack up valuables and withdraw. Authorities report the incident as a security breach with remaining units rerouted and valuables secured. No injuries reported.
Federal forces entered Tigre, one of Northern Mexico’s richest camps, retaking it from rebels led by Inez Salazar after two days. A hundred federals, aided by Yaqui Indians, marched in with minimal fire. Rebels fled with bullion and hostages, leaving four cannons and 100 horses. six rebels killed, 17 wounded, federal losses six killed and 17 wounded. Refugees from nearby towns were moved safely to Douglas.

San Francisco September 1 Taft men plan to bolt the county convention when delegates nominate Hoostvelt and Johnson tomorrow night. The decision was reached at two sessions of the Taft delegation held here today after the convention’s first session.
Colfax Washington September 16 Mr and Mrs Brownell who killed Albert Neeves father of Mrs Brownell at the home of Charles Long south of Colfax spent a restful night and day in jail. They asked that their children be brought to Colfax. Mrs Neeves who had taken the children to her home at Idaho will reach Colfax tomorrow with the children and arrange for the burial of her husband. The Brownells allege their Idaho lawyer after hearing Mrs Brownell full story went to the men accused of assaulting Mrs Brownell. Police investigators are examining the case and coroner Bruning is also investigating but no inquest has been held.
