A twenty year old man confesses to beating two men to death with a baseball bat to gain possession of an automobile. The incident occurred in Central Texas as authorities allege a ruthless slaying by a trafficker in stolen auto goods.
Harvey W. Church, 20, broke after 12 hours of questioning and admitted single handedly killing B. J. Daugherty and Carl Ausmus to obtain a $5,400 automobile. He described beating Daugherty and suffocating Ausmus, then burying Ausmus in a shallow grave behind his home.
