Commutation Recommended for Man Convicted of Manslaughter
Helena Sept 7 Approval of commutation of the sentence of Fiacchio del Giudice has been referred to the state board of pardons. Gov S W Stewart recommended reducing a sentence of two and one half to five years to a term of one to five years. Giudice, convicted in Missoula county of manslaughter in the death of Joe Thomas, was sentenced on Nov 22, 1919. New evidence includes an affidavit by Mrs Thomas claiming self defense and county attorney Dwig Mason supported the petition.
