Weather, fog, and a 30 mile head wind slowed the 276 mile hop but the planes arrived at 3 48 p m eastern standard time. They refueled and prepared for the next leg to Pictou harbor Nova Scotia, 420 miles away, with the destroyer Charles Aus duty stationed nearby.
