San Francisco dispatch reports massive loss from the Saturday quake near Tokyo and Yokohama. Villages such as Atama and Ito destroyed, thousands killed, towns submerged, railways and communications severed, Nagoya virtually wiped out, food and water shortages spreading.
A drive through Butte reveals a troubling tale of a blind boy and a companion who survived a dynamite cap accident. East Liverpool Ohio report relies on Prof Irving Fisher claiming Harding told him in Marion 1920 he favored entering a reformed world league of nations though opposing the Wilson league.
