Charges Against Judge Dismissed in District Court
At the request of Attorney George Bourquin representing 47 candidates fined in police court for placarding poles the contempt proceedings against Police Magistrate H J Grimes were dismissed by Judge Joseph R Jackson in district court yesterday morning. Bourquin said the defendant agreed to withdraw commitments and refund fines paid. The contempt charge arose after the arrests of W F Dunn and R B Smith and 45 others who appealed city ordinance violations. Blanket bond of 4700 was approved but disregarded by Grimes who issued the commitments.
