Market moods shift as the presidential election nears with mixed trading. Reports show copper demand firming, ore and refinery stocks active while several big names hint at gains or losses, and analysts foresee cautious optimism ahead of market hours Monday.
Helena month, Oct. 3. Charged with abducting her four daughters from Canada for immoral purposes and placing them in Havre houses of ill fame. Mrs Alexander Swain of Fort Benton faces grand jury action. Allegations say the girls, aged 14 to 22, supported their brother and mother through earnings. Two daughters held at Fort Benton, others jailed in Havre and here.

In Tersey City New Jersey October Theodore Whitmore was acquitted after a two hour jury verdict of not guilty in the murder of his wife whose battered body was found December 26 last year in a swamp near Harrison New Jersey. Whitmore’s alibi was supported by witnesses who placed him in New York at the time. The foreman announced the verdict and Whitmore showed strong emotion kissing his attorney.

Kennedy and Lewis were injured when they fell from a Northern Pacific passenger train near Sand Point after boarding at Spokane. Kennedy remained unconscious briefly and will be kept at Sand Point hospital for several days. Lewis sustained minor injuries. A brakeman on the stocky mountain division identified as Thin Tatter cautioned of the approach to Sand Point as the train crossed a drawbridge.
