Lewistown October 7 Constable A B Cheney of Denton manager of the McCaul Webster Lum company died in Sisters hospital from a wound received a week ago in a duel with Stanley Scoffield a California homesteader who sought to kill Hazel Wright of Restos and other parties Scoffield was shot and killed by the constable. The wounded man had been near death since being shot and paralyzed by the bullet. The body will likely be shipped to Vermillion SD for burial.
