Two Complaints Filed in Justice Courts
Two complaints were filed yesterday in the justice courts prepared by Maurice English of the county attorney's office. Charles McKenzie is accused of first degree assault on R. C. Jones, an electrician, with a case to be heard before Justice Coligan. McKenzie is tied to concessions at Columbia Gardens and a dispute over a working card on West Park street led to a melee in which a shot was fired. Nellie Reagan, who says that is her true name, will answer to a second degree assault charge in the justice court of John Doran, with Mrs. Carrie Chapman prosecuting. The incident stemmed from the lease of the Bennett block, a matter of police notoriety in recent weeks. The complaint alleges Reagan pulled hair, kicked, and pummeled the other woman. Meanwhile a local ad notes sale prices on overcoats and Crescent Creamery milk on West Park.
