Anaconda notes two new structures for the works the laboratory and a 50 by 90 foot office building to house superintendents clerks and timekeepers. Foundations are stone walls brick and one story with basement. Engineers report most steel work near completion with operations expected before year end and visitors increasing amid final assembly.
Jack Wade arrives from Butte with trainer Young Thomas to face Doc Flynn in a 20 round match at the Margaret theater on Oct 24. Wade is described in prime condition and a heavy favorite with recent wins over Oglesby and Donnelly. Flynn trains at the West Park old church after injuring a hand, regarded as a fast clever lightweights contender with an amateur crown from Herman Celrichs.
After the regular business meeting, King Lodge I O G T will present a literary programme by the order's gentlemen. Preparations have been underway for a week and several prominent visitors are expected. Refreshments will be served. The lodge reports near 120 members. Next Friday hosts the quarterly officers election and the following Friday the new officers will be installed. The meeting will start a little earlier than usual.
Matt Halloran arrested Wednesday night by Officer Fitzpatrick for causing a disturbance in the eastern city area. He was sent to the county jail to be tried this week by an insanity commission for an attempted hold up of the fire department hose wagon. Halloran has shown queer, sometimes violent behavior since the incident, though county officials believe he is not permanently deranged and may regain his senses after a period of quiet.
